MyOtherDrive is a well featured and respectable online storage and backup service. It caters for home and business users with up to huge amounts of data storage so is suited to any set of requirements. The best part in our opinion is the free 2 GB account on offer which gives you access to most of the functionality of the service.
MyOtherDrive offers a decent feature set which doesn't change much across the different plans it offers. The usual things are here such as file sharing with non-MyOtherDrive users, automated backups and access through a web browser. There are also a couple of useful extras like the ability to automatically create online photo albums or to grab content from the web and save it straight to your account. Everything works very smoothly and looks good too.
MyOtherDrive interestingly attempts to provide an automated backup service without forcing you to install any software. If you are running Windows it simply sets up a scheduled task that will start an online application to backup the files and folders you have specified. This works on Linux and Mac too in a similar way. This is quite handy as long as it works but, depending on how your computer is set up, we have heard of people having trouble with getting it running. MyOtherDrive's support section is pretty good though and should help you through any trouble you might have.
Although MyOtherDrive does offer pro and enterprise accounts there doesn't seem to be any difference in the functionality they provide, just the amount of storage space available. This isn't too bad given that there are a lot of features included in the plans anyway, but true enterprise users would probably be looking for more. The basics, such as collaborative folders and user access control are provided though so small to medium businesses should get on fine.
The best thing about MyOtherDrive is the free account, which gives you 2 GB of storage absolutely free, but ad supported. Even the paid for plans are very good value when you take into account the amount of storage and number of features that are on offer. Our top ten contains plenty of other options to consider, but MyOtherDrive shouldn't be ruled out by any means.
