Editor's Review:

ADrive provides complete and secure solutions for all of your online storage requirements with a no nonsense approach. It doesn't perhaps have the shiny, polished look and feel of some online storage sites, but if you are looking for more than just a web interface to your files then ADrive won't disappoint. We think it's great value for the amount of space you get and the support provided for various different ways of accessing your files will definitely keep the techies happy.

We would be lying if we said Adrive's web site was one of the best looking around. It's useable, but could really do with a design overhaul if it wants to attract more customers. However, it is very easy to sign up and although the web interface isn't the best we have seen, it does allow you to do the basics pretty easily. Anyway, with a 50 GB account free to any takers we aren't going to complain too much! There are also paid for accounts available – one which provides the same amount of space with extra features and another that has options for up to 10 TB of storage space. Enterprise plans are also available which feature custom branding and can be tailored to your business's requirements.

With a basic account at ADrive you get 50 GB of storage space and can upload and download your files using the basic web interface. Many people will find that this, along with the ability to share files using a unique link, is enough, but it does prevent you from taking advantage of the full range of backup features ADrive offers. If you opt for one of the paid accounts you get a whole lot of extra features, with one of the most useful being an easy to use desktop application that runs on Windows, Mac or Linux. This allows you to schedule backups automatically and means you can access all of your files directly from the desktop. If you need to restore a previous version of one of your files at any time there is also a handy option to do so automatically. ADrive doesn't keep quite as long a history as some services though so it still pays to be careful!

If you are more technical minded you will most likely appreciate the fact that ADrive caters for a couple of other methods of accessing your files too. Paid for accounts all come with support for FTP so you can use your favourite FTP client to get at your files from anywhere in the world. Also supported is WebDAV, which means you can map your ADrive online storage space as a network drive on your computer. Many other services don't offer these features so they are a welcome addition. Finally, paid for accounts also provide an extra layer of security with SSL encryption on all file transfers to and from your storage space.

ADrive is a great value service if you are looking for a large amount of storage space and is a great choice if you want to be able to access your files via FTP or WebDAV. However, for many users the web interface won't compare to some other services and we would have to admit it could be a bit more user friendly. A basic 50 GB account is available for free though so why not try it out and see for yourself.
