Box has an energetic sales force whose mission is to get the buyer to commit to a fully-earned one year contact with Box. Be very sure you need and will actually use the "business" and "enterprise" features as these are costly. You may add Box features within the one-year period but you cannot realize any cost savings by dropping features mid-term. I discovered the fine print too late, and Box was adamant about enforcing the contract.
Box has respectable (but expensive) cloud storage. The collaboration tools in Box are no easier to learn and to use than SharePoint and are much less powerful. Like SharePoint, the Box collaboration features are likely to have a low rate of adoption among employees. I recommend trying only the most basic Box features. Only if your employees adopt Box and clamor for collaboration features should you commit to a "Business" or "Enterprise" contract. Don't try the Business or Enterprise services first.
In summary, I would not recommend Box.com to a friend.
