ElephantDrive is a well made online storage and backup solution. It offers plans for home and business users which offer all the functionality either group will likely need. The prices are quite reasonable for what you get and they also provide a good level of customer support.
All the plans offered by ElephantDrive have a similar feature set but the complexity of the feature depends on how much you are willing to pay. For example the home edition offers version history for 30 days but the home plus edition offers it forever. The main difference between the home and business plans is that business users get support for multiple user accounts to share the same storage space. All the features work well and should provide enough functionality to suit most people as long as you choose the correct plan for your needs.
There are two pieces of software ElephantDrive offers for download. The automatic backup software is only available for Windows and helps you to schedule backups to your online storage space. There is also the "trunkdrive" application for Windows or Mac which maps your online storage space to a drive on your desktop computer so that you can easily transfer files between the two. Between these two applications - and the web interface provided so that you can access your files anywhere- there should be enough to organize your storage and backups with no problems.
The security ElephantDrive provides is as you would expect from a service dealing with business customers. All transfers are handled using 128-bit SSL encryption and files are stored using 256-bit AES encryption on the server. ElephantDrive is refreshingly open about all of its security measures and you can read a great deal more about them on the web site.
ElephantDrive offers enough different subscription plans so that you can choose the best value plan to satisfy your requirements. The prices are pretty good and you do get 2 months free if you pay annually which is a welcome saving. Enterprise business users can also be catered for by getting in touch directly with the sales team and discussing a custom plan.
In all ElephantDrive is a competent and useful online backup solution. It is perhaps not the best out there, but does offer most of the features you will need and charges relatively cheap prices. Home and business users alike may want to bear this one in mind while looking for some online storage.
