BullGuard produces some of the most popular security and backup software available for Windows PCs. BullGuard Backup is its high quality remote backup offering that comes recommended by numerous well respected computing publications. While it might not be as cheap as some web-only services it's great for novice computer users and those looking for a well established and respected name in the business.

Unlike many backup services BullGuard Backup comes packaged as a boxed product which can be shipped directly to your door, although you have the option to download it if you prefer. Once you pop the disc in the drive (or start the installer if you downloaded it) BullGuard installs without any fuss and you are ready to begin backing up your essential files. The step by step wizard ensures that you know what is going on as you choose the settings that dictate what will be backed up and how it will be done. Everything is laid out very simply and is perfect if you aren't too confident using computers.

BullGuard packs in a lot of useful features to ensure that all the files and data you need are backed up safely and securely. It even integrates with a number of popular email clients to backup your inbox. Backups can be scheduled at regular intervals or the smart detection software can figure out when you aren't using your computer and upload files then so as not to slow your connection when you are using it. Both transfers and stored files are encrypted so that your privacy is guaranteed at all times. Once your files are uploaded to your storage space in the cloud they can be accessed from any computer or smartphone across the web.

BullGuard's pricing is slightly higher than some of its competition, but you are paying for a high quality boxed product and the technical support that goes with it. A standard license lasts for a year and provides 10 GB of space which won't be enough to back up your whole hard drive, but should allow you to store most of your important files. You can upgrade as you purchase to get a discount on further years' licences or extra storage space if you require it.

BullGuard is a great product if you are a Windows user looking for an extremely simple way of backing up your essential files.
