After 30 years with a company we "parted ways" suddenly. I found myself high and dry and had not saved much recently in the way of paper copies. I had been introduced to dropbox by a younger colleague however and there was some of my intellectual work that I had stored on dropbox, enough of my most recent work to potentially give a new employer a very good idea of my work. I simply changed my email from the old work email to the new personal email and recovered so much!

I would recommend this to anyone, and I would add, keep copies of everything, always... Trust me, but don't trust your job will forever remain, not even after 30 years ;)

In summary, I would recommend DropBox to a friend.

I have been using DropBox on my MacBook Air and iPhone 4 for months, and it is fantastic! I also have a MobileMe account, but Apple's iDisk is slow and clunky, so I prefer DropBox.
